The USDA Tribal Advisory Committee (TAC) is hosting virtual and in-person meetings at the end of May. Tribal leaders or their representatives are encouraged to provide oral and written comments on barriers Tribes face in accessing USDA programs.
This is an opportunity for Tribal leaders to discuss federal priorities requiring congressional action and the need for USDA to support these legislative proposals publicly. Examples include expanding the broad use of Pub.L. 93-638 across USDA programs, encouraging increased use of cooperative agreements and alternative funding agreements, promoting economic development through the expansion of the Buy Indian Act, and so much more. Due to the meeting being hosted in a secured facility, members of the public wishing to attend in person must register in advance by Wednesday, May 22.
Your pre-registration must state the names of each person in your group, the organization or interest represented, the number of people planning to give oral comments, if any, and whether anyone in your group requires special accommodations.
